Dear Stella Rose,
Oh, where to begin?! Let's start with telling you that you are such a gift from God! Your mama and papa had been trying to conceive for a little over a year. Mama had been taking her basal body temperature every morning for almost a year to track when she ovulated, and it started to get tiring.
Mama decided at the beginning of November 2009 that she wasn't going to take her temperature anymore and was just going to leave it up to God. On December 4th, mama and papa were helping set up the church for the Christmas decor when mama's friend, Courtney, stopped to chat.
Courtney asked mama when she and papa were going to have a baby, and mama told her all about how she just recently stopped doing the temperature taking and decided to give the situation over to God. Little did mommy know, she was two weeks pregnant at the time the conversation occurred!
God has a sense of humor!!
You know what else is funny? Earlier in November there was a family that came to the church's pantry that was in need of a bed. Mama and papa decided to give away their bed and move the guest bedroom suite into their bedroom. The whole plan was to move mommy's craft supplies and the futon out of your future room and into the guest room, so that your room would be ready to be turned into a nursery when it was time!
See, God is funny!!
Another thing...once a week mama and papa watched the Heller kiddos (Jenna, Cade & Kendyll...you will love them). One of the nights at the Heller's, a couple weeks before mama and papa found out you were growing inside mama's belly, Kendyll came up to mama and sniffed her belly. Mama laughed and said, "Are you trying to tell me something, Kendyll?!" It was so fun to tell them the news a couple weeks later, and they all joked calling Kendyll the "little prophetess!"
Love,
Mama & Papa
