Dear Stella Rose,
Mama had been looking forward to going to the antepartum support group (for all women on bed rest) for the past couple weeks. Two weeks ago, mama didn't realize it was at 10:00 and she had just got her breakfast at 10:00 and didn't want to go late. She told herself she would just start going the following week. Then that week came, and mama had lost track of what day of the week it was, so she missed that week's meeting, too! This week, mama didn't forget!
It was such a beautiful day, so they all got to go outside and enjoy the sunshine. There were 5 ladies total, and only 2 had been to the group before. There were 2 ladies pregnant with twins. One of them had to come to group in her bed because she was experiencing pretty sharp contractions. Mama realized that there were people dealing with much more discomfort than mama! One of the girls actually got to go home on bed rest but still came back just for group!
It really was nice to go to the group just to be able to connect and talk with one another. Mama looked forward to going back the next week and hoped to see some of the same people! Mama's nurse came out to get her because the Maternal Fetal Medicine team had stopped by to do the weekly ultrasound. Since they had already come, mama had to wheel down to their office this time.
Once again, you aced your biophysical exam! You were practice breathing right off the bat and moving all around. Your fluid was at 10cm for the third week in a row! Mama saw you clenching your fist and even saw you open your mouth. It looked like you moved your hand over to your mouth, like you were sucking your thumb!
Look at those lips and your cute little nose!
Mama has a 30 gram carbohydrate limit for breakfast, and there's not many things that are low in carbs other than protein. Aunt Shelli was joking around with mama that your chubby cheeks must be from all the bacon she's been eating! Nana likes to call them kissy cheeks, so that's what mama and papa have been calling them!
After the good news from your ultrasound, Grumpa and Lola took mama on a wheelchair ride to enjoy the beautiful weather outside.
Isn't Lola so cute?!
You're going to be pretty cute yourself!
Love,
Mama & Papa
