God Works Out the Tiniest Details

Thursday, June 10, 2010

Dear Stella Rose,

With all that was going on and mama going back into the hospital, papa started to doubt whether taking the internship at the new church was the right timing.  He wondered if it was God's way of telling him not to go.  Papa talked with "Uncle Matt" who gave him good advice.  Papa was supposed to be meeting with the elders on Thursday, the day following mama's admission to the hospital.  Matt told papa to just be honest with them about all that is going on and papa's concerns about not being able to give his all to the new ministry right away.  After meeting with papa, if they felt they should look for someone else, then it would be clear that it wasn't the right timing.  However, if they were all still open and felt papa was the right fit, given all the road blocks, papa would know to move forward.

That Thursday, papa met with Pastor Steve and all the elders.  They had great conversation, and papa felt very welcomed by everyone.  They asked a lot of questions of one another and talked about everything that was going on with mama being in the hospital.  They were all very understanding and still wanting to move forward.  Papa came back to mama with good news!

That following Sunday, papa was getting introduced to the congregation.  They even prayed with papa for him and for you and mama on stage!  What a warm welcome!

Papa realized another way God was working out the details and using their situation for good.  Papa felt that he has always hidden in mama's shadow when it comes to meeting new people.  Mama loves to meet new people and make instant connections.  Papa, on the other hand, has always taken more time feeling comfortable around new people; although he has gotten much, much better!  Friends used to tease papa when they would leave early from a group gathering, because he would always say some funny excuse like, "We need to get home to wash the dog!"  Papa doesn't do that anymore, though!

Papa told mama that with her being on bed rest and not being able to be with him was God's way of growing him even more.  He would have to come out of his comfort zone again and meet lots of new people without his best friend by his side.  Papa did great, and now he will get to be the one to introduce you and mama to all the wonderful new people!

You will see; God works out all the tiniest details!

Love,
Mama & Papa
